Twisted Vines Care - A Neuronanny Initiative

Boutique in-home care inspired by nature, nurture, and adventure. ~ A Neuronanny Initiative

Twisted Vines offers a boutique, in-home; home away from home care that blends the comfort of nanny-level attention with the richness of nature and adventure-based learning.

With a small 1:4 ratio, each child receives the individualized care and connection they deserve while engaging in a rhythm of meaningful, hands-on experiences — from gardening and baking to local nature walks and community adventures.

Rooted in the belief that education should feel like living and not ridged. Twisted Vines nurtures curiosity, independence, and sensory harmony through daily life.

We explore local trails, visit farms and libraries, and cultivate creativity through gentle academics woven naturally into our days.

Every moment — whether we’re kneading dough, identifying leaves, or reading under the wisteria canopy — is an opportunity to connect, discover, and grow.

Twisted Vines isn’t a daycare or classroom; it’s a living classroom, designed for families who want intentional, heart-centered, and developmentally rich care.

Our Approach to Care & Learning

Our Philosophy

We believe children thrive when their environment is calm, predictable, joyful, and connected to the natural world.

Twisted Vines draws inspiration from:

  • Montessori (independence + real materials)
  • Reggio Emilia (exploration + creativity)
  • Nature-based learning (daily outdoor experiences)
  • Co-regulation & emotional intelligence

We honor each child’s sensory profile, emotional rhythm, and curiosity. Every day is intentionally crafted to help children feel safe, supported, and seen.

Daily Rhythm

Our days are structured enough to create comfort, but flexible enough to let curiosity lead.

A typical day includes:

  • Arrival + breakfast
  • Outdoor exploration / morning walk
  • Sensory invitations & nature play
  • Storytime, songs, and themed learning
  • Snack
  • Art, building, dramatic play, early literacy or math exposure
  • Lunch
  • Nap or quiet rest
  • Afternoon outdoor play
  • Snack + closing rhythm
  • Pick-up transition

Children learn by touching, moving, discovering, imagining, and connecting — not by being rushed or pressured.

Curriculum Approach

We weave early academics into play-based, real-world experiences. Themes emerge naturally from what children notice outdoors or show interest in.

Children explore:

  • Early literacy (stories, vocabulary, letters through play)
  • Math (counting, sorting, patterns, measurement)
  • Geography (directions, maps, habitats, landforms)
  • Science (plants, bugs, weather, water, shadows, experiments)
  • Social studies & community (roles, feelings, belonging)
  • History through imagination (age-appropriate, story-based adventures)
  • Art, music, & creative expression

Learning feels like life — not school.

Behavior & Emotional Support

We do:

  • Co-regulation
  • Gentle boundaries
  • Prep + practice for transitions
  • Emotional naming
  • Connection over compliance
  • Predictable routines

We do not use:

  • Time-outs
  • Shame
  • Fear-based discipline

Every behavior is a communication. We respond with understanding and guidance.

Outdoor & Weather Policy

We go outside every day unless weather is unsafe.

Light rain, drizzle, and seasonal changes are part of our curriculum.

Families provide:

  • Muddy buddy / rain suit
  • Waterproof boots
  • Seasonal coat
  • Hat + gloves (winter)
  • Sunhat (warm months)

Exposure to nature supports regulation, immunity, creativity, and joy.

Field Trips & Adventure Safety

At Twisted Vines, children enjoy gentle neighborhood walks, nature moments, and supervised local outings designed to spark curiosity and connection.

Safety is always our highest priority. All outings follow strict supervision guidelines, clear headcounts, and developmentally appropriate boundaries to ensure every child remains safe, supported, and within sight at all times.

Licensing & Legal Compliance

Twisted Vines operates in full compliance with Georgia and Pickens County childcare guidelines for small, home-based programs.

We maintain:

  • A strict 1:4 caregiver-to-child ratio
  • All required safety and exemption standards
  • Background checks for all adults in the home
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Emergency and safety procedures

Though license-exempt under Georgia rules, we voluntarily uphold many licensed-program standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at Twistvineschildcare@gmail.com you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our $25 tour fee reflects the time and preparation devoted to welcoming your family and introducing you to your potential caregiver. We schedule private, personalized tours to ensure every visit receives our full attention and care.

This policy also helps us connect with families who value intentional, respectful partnerships — the kind of mutual care and consideration we aim to model for the children we serve. It sets the tone for the trusting, collaborative relationship we hope to build together.

The tour fee is non-refundable but applied toward your registration should you choose to enroll.

To ensure safety and readiness in our activity-based environment, we welcome little ones who are walking independently. Our care space includes open play zones, sensory areas, and low nap cots designed for mobile toddlers. Once your child is confidently on their feet, they’ll be ready to explore, engage, and rest comfortably within our shared space.

We intentionally maintain a very limited number of placements to protect the quality and intimacy of care.

Twisted Vines is license-exempt, operating fully within Georgia’s small in-home childcare regulations. We voluntarily exceed many licensed standards.
